SPEAKING AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES


REGIONAL WRITER’S CONFERENCES
•        Lectures: $300 and up, plus expenses (mileage and per diem)
•        Panel discussions: $200 and up, plus expenses (mileage and per diem)
•        Seminars: $400/day plus 25% of tuition fee beyond sponsor’s break-even point, plus
expenses (mileage and per diem)
•        One-on-one manuscript critique/consultation during conference: $60/hour

LOCAL GROUPS, LIBRARIANS, TEACHERS
•        Lectures: $75 – $150 and up
•        Single-session seminars on teaching creative writing to students and/or creating
student publication: $150 – $300 (half-day, whole day)
•        Multi-session seminars on teaching creative writing to students and/or creating
student publication: $75/class (based on one-hour sessions)
•        Address/speaking engagement: $250  

SCHOOL CLASSES
•        Lectures: $50 – $100; $200/day and up
•        Meet-the-Author activities: $75 – $150 and up
•        Creation of student publication: negotiable

SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS: MISCELLANEOUS
•        Multi-session seminars/classes on creative writing: $50/class and up (based on one-
hour sessions, number of participants)
•        Reading events: $50 – $100 and up



*Actual fee is dependent upon total time of service required. All fees are negotiable. All
fees are due and payable at the close of the last session of the project, unless other
arrangements have been made.
EDITORIAL AND WRITING SERVICES


EDITORIAL SERVICES
•        Proofreading (against original copy):  $25/hour and up
•        Proofreading (no original copy, includes light editing): $30/hour and up
•        Copyediting: $35/hour and up
•        Editing: $40/hour and up
•        Rewriting: $40/hour and up

WRITING SERVICES
•        Copywriting (advertising, book-jacket copy, etc.): $40/hour and up
•        Writing (articles, books, etc.): $60/hour and up, or flat fee/project by arrangement
•        News Release: $30/hour and up, or $150 flat fee
•        Business/Sales Letter: $30/hour and up or $150 flat fee
•        Resume: $30/hour, or flat fee by arrangement
•        Manuscript Preparation: $25/hour, or $5/page, or flat fee by arrangement
•        Consultation (writing, editing, manuscript preparation, promotion): $65/hour and up

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
•        Rush Charge (turnaround within 24 hours, when project is accepted): Double rate
•        Weekend or Holiday Charge: Double rate
•        Minimum Charge Per Project: one hour

A 50% deposit is required for projects estimated at more than $750 (corporate clients) or
$150 (individual clients), unless other arrangements are made. Payment is due upon
completion of the project and presentation of invoice. Invoices not paid-in-full by 30
calendar days (or one calendar month) from date of invoice are subject to a late fee of 20%
of the invoice total for every 30 calendar days (or one calendar month), or part thereof,
unless other arrangement has been made.

Services may be rendered as hardcopy or electronic copy. Additional fees or negotiated
rates may apply for unusual or exceptional projects.
